Canon doesn’t have many ultra-wide choices: 14L, 16-35L and 17-40L. I have owned the two latter. The 16-35L used to be one of my favorite travel lenses. Especially on the 1.3 crop body. I just found out they call this lens the CanonBall. And it surely is. The thing is HEAVY, short and stout. It is a piece of light sucking engineering marvel. The 70-200mm lenses are probably the most versatile. They are a great travel lens… able to do portraits, compress landscapes and capture images you can’t get closed to. The 2.8′s are a bit of monsters… over 3 lbs. But if you can carry it, it is certainly worth it… as is the IS if you [ READ MORE ]
