Steve Rifkin, a friend of mine from high school, came down over Labor Day weekend with his wife Stacey and brought their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels: Toby (black and white) and Kyle (brown and white). Now to be honest, when Steve told me what kind of dogs he had… I didn’t even really know what a King Charles really was. But man are they great dogs! Toby was super energetic and the complete scene stealer. Kyle was a little shyer but equally as sweet. We had such a great time that Laura now wants to get one too.
We then went to lunch at Le Pain Quotidien. A great yummy French breakfast/brunch place… I always think of it as an upscale Au Bon Pain… with no bagels. They have locations in the valley, Brentwood and Beverly Hills but, of course, we ate the Manhattan Beach location.

And to top it all off, we got to see Monty Garside… another high school classmate I hadn’t seen in close to 10 years!

Yes. To know a Cavaliar King Charles is to love one or this case two. They were bred for Royalty as companion dogs. I was Toby and Kyle dog walker for a short time. These two are particularly special and loving dogs. It is is very difficult to find well bred ones. I will miss them terribly.
