I am always on the lookout for good BBQ in Los Angeles. So when the LA BBQ Fest came to down… I was excited to try it. My friend Kevin Chang hooked us up with VIP passes. But the VIP passes couldn’t make the food any better. There were only 8 vendors packed into the corner of the Santa Monica Pier parking lot… and one of them was Bristol Farms! The best place was from Pasadena and served BBQ chicken with salsa on top… very California. Two places with beef brisket were overcooked. A smoked sausage was disappointing. Each plate was $10 and probably fed 1/2 a person… so sharing wasn’t as fun or as cheap as we hoped. Luckily, we got there early… beat the crowds and got seats. There were plenty of people squatting. Oh well…
